    • Established acreage positions that formed a large part of Brigham’s and Kodiak’s portfolio (since acquired)

  • River Bend E&P: JV with GSO, has interests in Zavanna’s DSU’s located in Eastern Williams and Central McKenzie Counties, ND
  • Keybridge Resources E&P: JV with Coventry to acquire non-operated working interest in Zavanna’s operated properties

Management Team

William Coleman, President

  • Has been managing Zavanna’s growth and strategic direction since its formation in 1994
  • Founded Prairie Petroleum in 1981 to develop and market O&G prospects in the Williston and Powder River Basins
    • Prairie was the foundation for Zavanna
  • Since 1981 has partnered with various companies including Anadarko, Blackstone/GSO, BP, Chesapeake, Conoco, ExxonMobil, Gulf Oil, Hess, Maersk, Schlumberger, Shell, Statoil, Texaco
  • Previously Div. Land Manager at Aminol working Gulf Coast and Rockies and began his career as Landman at Atlantic Richfield
  • BA in Economics from Duke University in 1973 and MBA from Tulane University in 1978

David Hodges, COO

  • Joined Zavanna in 2012 as SVP of Operations and in 2015 became COO
  • Accountable for all aspects of Zavanna’s day to day operations company wide
  • Also a managing member of 1804 Midstream, which operates a natural gas processing facility in the state of North Dakota
  • Worked previously at Ultra, where held various engineering roles with increasing management responsibility from 2005 to 2012
  • BS in Chemical Engineering from University of Buffalo in 2000 and Executive MBA from University of Denver in 2016

Cody Duran, VP of Operations

  • Joined Zavanna in August 2013 as the Completions Manager aiding in the transition to multi-well pad completions
  • Promoted to Vice President of operations and successfully executed Zavanna’s infill development program, along with all operational control of Zavanna’s Drilling program
  • Previously Operations Engineer for Pioneer Natural Resources managing a 2,000+ well CBM field in the Ration Basin during a 300+ well per year Drilling/Completion phase
    • Operations Manager over Uinta-Piceance assets during a divestiture process
    • Began his career on the service side in the Williston Basin as lead engineer on 200+ fracs of early Elm Coulee Bakken exploration projects
  • BS in Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Refining from Colorado School of Mines in 2001

Matt Ott, Director of Business Development

  • Joined Zavanna in February, 2017 as the Director of Business Development responsible for acquisition, divestiture, merger opportunities and managing the company’s reserves
  • Previous nine years working for Venoco, Inc.
    • 4 years based in California as an operations engineer working in multiple California basins including offshore and highly sensitive environments onshore
    • 2012 to 2016 was based in Denver office for Venoco working numerous projects in A&D, corporate strategy and restructuring
  • BS in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 2008
